In my artistic practice, I work with themes of growth and transformation. Clay as my primary medium inspires me because of the shifting qualities it has. While working with clay, the material undergoes many different stages – from soft to solid and from fragile to strong.

Then, in the final firing, the chemical transformation of the material is often compared to an almost magical alchemy: The clay becomes something completely different. I look at these changes in the material as transformative powers that are set free under extreme conditions.

My work deals with growing hope through decay and how we experience internal and external changes in an ever-evolving world. The body and its relation to nature take an important role in these observations.

I want to create a visual world that hints towards a common utopia, in which solidarity and care form the basis of our togetherness. I hope that my work inspires a need for action in viewers by connecting with them emotionally.
