Claire Lagriffoul

I like to work on a human scale, embracing imperfection. I work with my thoughts, mistakes, and impulses, integrating them into my process. I see material as a living organism, capable of transformation, accepting that I cannot control everything. Chance, happy accidents, and serendipity play an important role in my work. I like to think of my practice as a space of fertile chaos where the unexpected takes an essential place.

I am particularly interested in the photographic dimension of glass, as a material that retains the trace of a process, of an event that no longer exists.

My work revolves around intimacy because I believe our personal stories always carry a universal and deeply political dimension.
