I mainly work with recognizable objects, that are connected to a function or shape that we are somehow familiar with. I like the idea that an object comes to life through people engaging with it. At the same time, I like the history and tradition you build upon when working with familiar shapes.

I am drawn to things that are harmonious and brings comfort and I often collect my inspiration in nature where I think you find the most beautiful shapes, colors and textures.

To me clay works as a language that helps me express myself. My wish is to capture the presence and calm that I experience in the making and translate it into shapes, curves and surfaces that feels bodily, warm and caring.

I appreciate technical craft and allow myself to be slow and detailed when working with clay. I see this as a quiet resistance toward the pace of modern life and a way of creating space for an alternative story allowing for slowness and sensitivity.
